Our Mission
Space Coast Survivors is a dedicated

Brevard County, FL.
Our goal is to raise awareness, secure
funding, and actively engage the
community through a variety of initiatives.
Community Impact

Dawn and Angie
2019
Space Coast Survivors began as a local social network in Brevard County, FL, in 2018 with a handful of young survivors who met in treatment. Since then, it has grown to support survivors of all ages and has impacted the lives of over one hundred people in all stages of survivorship.
We gather for crafts, community events, travel to breast cancer conferences, mud runs, lunches, fundraising in our own community, awareness events, walks, coffee dates with those who are newly diagnosed, and to help our members in any way we can (we did paint a house once!).

Why do we do what we do?
Our community is comprised of some of us didn't know where to find information or who to turn to during treatment.
We want to change that for others.
"[What is] important for the [cancer] patient is the social support aspect of cancer care which involves the interaction with people sharing a similar experience or dealing with the impact of the disease on personal relationships. Psychological support is important to help patients to cope with any arising worries or fears" (Loibl & Lederer, 2014, para. 7).

Resources

Financial Aid
With the support from our community, we are able to offer financial assistance to individuals during active breast cancer treatment, providing support to help them navigate some of the economic challenges that may arise. Our aim is to alleviate financial burdens and enhance the quality of life for those in need.
Please email SpaceCoastSurvivors321@gmail.com
for an application.

Community Initiatives
We rely on the support of Brevard County (and beyond!) to help survivors in our community who need our help. People undergoing breast cancer treatment should not have to choose between medical care and whether they can put food on the table for themselves and their families.
Only because of the great outpouring of support for our community are we able to help with co-pays, deductibles, utilities, childcare, and other basic living expenses.

Activities and Events
Contact us to learn about and to participate in any of our events. Our events are pay-as-you-go. If you are unable to cover the cost of any event (typically <$20), please let us know. We have a fund for new members in treatment. We don't want finances to get in the way of us getting to know you.
